Thanks to some contacts, a real gem of a piece of furniture arrived at the workshop. An antique chest of drawers from 1844. It was made of different woods such as walnut, boxwood, cherry and other fruit trees with decorative techniques such as marquetry and lathe. It was like a thousand piece puzzle to reconstruct all the pieces unglued or to adapt pieces made to measure. In addition, the traditional steps of an antique furniture restoration were carried out, such as the treatment of woodworm, the operation of the drawers with their guides, the restoration of the cracks and breaks and more…
The finishing was done with shellac and water-based varnish.
